Message from the Belfast Tattoo Director

When we staged our first Belfast Tattoo in 2013 one of our main objectives was to give our local bands and talent a platform to show their ability and talent on the same stage and in the same spotlight as bands and talent we would bring in from around Europe and indeed the world.
In my humble opinion, I think our local bands and talent hit it for six against some of the best bands and talent Europe has to offer. I think those who attended the SSE Arena over the last few days saw a fantastic show performed by some fantastic people, assisted by some equally fantastic people behind the scenes, and we are sure, when the BBC show highlights of the Belfast Tattoo 2016 on BBC 2, many people will hopefully be surprised by what they see and a few attitudes will be changed.
I would like to thank those who made this possible in the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.
